Getting a job as a teenager can teach you how to budget, save, and manage money. Finding a job as a teenager with no experience can be tough, though. First, you want to make sure you are prepared before you go to apply for a job. You also want to know what the top jobs are for teenagers and where you can apply at.
Putting a resume together might be a little more difficult if you have had no job experience in the past. It is definitely worth it to make one, though. It can give your employer an idea of who you are and what your strengths might be. They can get an idea of your hobbies, skills, and personality to see if you are going to fit in with their company. This may also help you stand out from other teens who come in for an interview who do not have an application. Make sure to write down even the simplest of jobs you have done: babysitting, mowing lawns, car washing, etc. You can go online to get ideas for an application outline. The internet or computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, can help you set up an outline for your application to get started.
Now that you have your application finished it's time to find a job. Here are some top job ideas for teenagers:
1.Fast Food- This is one of the top places that hires teenagers. It is a good way to make some quick money on the side.
2.Movie Theater- A fun environment to work in and meet new friends. You get to watch free movies and depending on the theater, get some free popcorn to go along with it.
3.Lifeguard- A very rewarding job. Help keep people safe while enjoying the sun and getting a good tan.
4.Delivering Pizza- If you are 16 years old or older this is a good choice. You not only get your basic pay, but you get tips also.
5.Newspaper Route- Newspaper routes have the early morning and afternoon shifts. It would work great for your school schedule, and still give you the time to hang out with your friends.
6.Grocery Store Bagger- Many grocery stores hire teens to be the bagger. It gives you a chance to meet many people and develop good people skills for the future.
7.Shoveling Snowy Driveways- You can be a good neighbor to those around you and earn some cash. You can also make some fliers and post them around town so that people can have your information.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you show up to your interview dressed in the appropriate attire because presentation definitely counts. You want to make sure to stand up straight and be mature. Look the person who is interviewing you in the eyes and just be sure to do your best.
